Are you a Unicorn or are you a Zebra? Unicorn Recruiting represents a Tier 1 aerospace parts machining operation in Wichita, Kansas who has an immediate opening for a DIRECTOR OF NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION.
This position is responsible for the oversight of all new product launches, all program management activity, and the interaction of the cross-functional product teams involved in product launches at multiple facilities located throughout the United States. The NPI Director will coordinate communication between all functional areas, including HR, Engineering, Accounting, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Business Development. Must demonstrate the ability to provide leadership across functional areas within the company, and to influence team members with reporting responsibilities to other functional areas. Additionally, the individual must demonstrate organizational skills required to align resources from these many functional areas, as necessary to meet customer delivery dates and product cost requirements. Experience will be required in engineering, supply chain, product costing, and customer interaction, as well as extensive experience with program management within the aerospace or another technical industry.

Skills Required:
- Strong multifunctional leadership Skills
- Experience managing product launches to ISO/AS9000 manufacturing standards
- Trained in using Lean/Six-Sigma continuous improvement team building methods
- Able to lead multiple product launches simultaneously at multiple facilities
- Experience managing inventory control, and interacting with suppliers to meet difficult delivery schedules
- Knowledgeable analyzing financial results and formulating plans necessary to achieve goals
- Able to generate goal based, metrics driven performance improvement
- Must possess the organizational skill to oversee multiple projects, delegate to functional leaders, and communicate with all levels of the organization, focused on accountability and on-time project completion
Qualifications:
- 5 years of program management experience in Aerospace, CNC Machining or another technical manufacturing field
- Bachelors degree, preferably in a technical field, graduate degree preferred
- Skilled using Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project, as well as ERP/MRP systems
- Demonstrated results leading product launches in a demanding manufacturing environment
- Must cite specific achievements and be able to describe how the results were accomplished
- Tenacity in solving problems creatively across organizational boundaries, doing whatever it takes to satisfy our internal and external customers
